Join our Maker, Asho of Asho Buckingham Art, for Mending Hours at the shop! Asho's business model focuses on sustainability and repurposing well-loved clothing into something new and beautiful.

What is mending hours?

Have mystery stains on a shirt that still fits perfectly? Did a button fall off of your fave flannel? Or maybe you have a random hole in the side of your hoodie - wouldn't it be so cool to swing by the shop and have someone fix it up for you in a way that not only fixes the holes or stains, but also makes it into an entirely new original piece of clothing?!

Bring your used clothing in store and pick from Asho's assortment of patches, ink prints, and buttons to upcycle your clothing into something new!

Asho will do all of the hard work for you. Just pick your favorite patch or design and they'll get to work fixing it up for you.

What are my design choices?

Asho is one of our artists in store. They have a variety of unique original art designs for you to choose from. This includes ink prints like the skull design in this photo and patches like the scissors on the sweatshirt above.

Asho's available designs may vary month to month. Scroll this page to view other photo examples and fill out the contact form below if you have a specific design you want to make sure is ready for you when you stop in!

When & Where

Mending Hours are the third Wednesday each month from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Makers of Maryland 8157-G Honeygo Blvd Nottingham MD 21236.

You can stop by anytime between 4 and 7:30pm to see Asho. No need to prepay anything or schedule the time. Just come as you are! We're all super friendly and casual around here.

Prices

  • Butons (Reattached or Replaced): $5
  • Hand sewn patches for stains and small holes: $15-20
  • Hand carved prints for small stains: $15

You can even bring your clothing in to donate for 50% off any of Asho's artwork and clothing in store.

No need to purchase a ticket for this event - just stop by, bring your clothing & hangout with Asho while they bring new life to your clothes!
